HF winches made by Mile Marker

Here is a killer deal on Harbor Freight's winches. I've been told they're made by Mile Marker, and somebody on TTORA mentioned that the serial numbers sync up with the Mile Marker's series. They have a 10K, 9K, and 8K lb. model. I'm seriously thinking about buying one of these.

Here's the link to the TTORA thread

And here's the Harbor freight link

Petersen's 4Wheel mag. has a winch article this month (PG 54) and has them next to each other with all spec's listed as well. They are identicle as far as I can tell.

Right. I think that's how the TTORA thread got started. Hell, I'm buying one!

I wonder with the lever being were it is on the 8000 would this thing work in my TJM bumper? $299 for a "Mile Marker M8000" is not too bad. Could also have it sent to the local Harbor Freight store and save on shipping cost. Hell of a deal when you add it up!

I have the Harbor Freight 8000 on my 4runner now. The clutch is in the right spot and it will work on the TJM, I have it in my TJM-17. Wouldn't recommend it, I have already burned mine up. The casing that holds the brushes is made of plastic and if it gets too hot, it will melt and the brushes will get stuck. I got mine for free so I can't complain. Hope this helps.
