Fog Lights

Fog Lights
Okay so I searched and really couldn't find a definite answer to my question.
I picked up some fog lights at wal-mart to install on my truck. It was a real neat setup and came with wiring and a switch and everything. Of course, I just had to have an issue. Anyway, what I am wondering is where to wire in the lights? I've got them grounded and the switch wired to the lights, I just need to know where to connect the positive lead.
The instructions said to connect it to the low-beam wires. I really didn't want to do this because there are times when I don't want full-blown headlights, I just want fog lights on. I contemplated connecting directly to the battery, but I have enough trouble remembering turning off the lights
Anyway, I was thinking connect them to the parking lights. I have a good wire to tap off of right where my wiring runs past (side-marker) and I think that would be the ideal setup. Anybody see any issues with this plan? Thanks in advance.

alright, but as I mentioned above I want the foglights to turn off when I turn the lights all the way off. Would wiring it to the + side of the parking lights allow me to run the foglights when the lights are on, or just the parking lights are on, but would turn off when the parking lights are off?

Just installed a similar (if not the same) kit. I wired them directly to the battery. Yes, you have to turn them off. But, you're free to turn them on/off without the car's OEM lights. Plus, you can run them with the car turned off if you choose. I've had fogs wired to my OEM lights and I hated it. They cut out when the brights were on. And, they only came on when my lights were on. I want the freedom to run my fog lights with my brights. I'll accept the comprimise that I have to avoid stupidity and turn my lights off when I'm done.
PLUS, for anyone thinking about wiring in some fog lights, it's one of the simplest mods to connect one wire to a battery...one to the body (random screw) for a ground...one to the lights...and one to the switch. CAKE.

Well with his truck, he has to manually turn on his lights, so therefor he has his switch right there. On my truck you can turn the lights on without turning the truck on. But he just mainly doesnt want to forget to turn off the lights.

I was thinking about mounting a LED to the dash connected to the light switch, so when the lights were on, the LED would turn on. I know sometimes I forget to turn my lights off when it's raining. I put speakers in my door, and took out he buzzers.

forgot to update y'all on this matter. I installed the lights. Because it came with the harness, I followed instructions and wired to the battery. Actually, it works well because the switch is lighted. Thanks all for your help and suggestions.
