engine harness question!

hey fellas I'm new to this board was wondering if a 22re M/T engine wire harness out of a '86 fit into a '87 w/ A/T transmission? Any feed back would be apprecaited! Thanx!

No, the wiring harness for a MT engine does NOT contain the automatic transmission wiring. The AT has 3 separate connectors that join the wiring harness to the transmission wiring right at the starter location. You can conversely use a AT wiring harness for a MT swap by simply jumpering the neutral safety switch leads. Toyota also did some major wiring changes between 1986 and 1987. Sorry.
