Hoping somebody has electrical diagrams for a 1982 BJ44.. Part of it is 12V, part is 24V, too confusing for me, and my mechanic wants the diagrams.. I'd also be open to buying any used harnesses out there, I'd use them as a pattern and just make new ones.. I know I need under the dash and under the hood, headlights have a short.. It's pretty common to pull these 4 cylinder diesels out and replace with V8 power, but I love the pulling power, handling, and mileage of this 6 seater..

 

Have you checked with Spector Off-Road in Canoga Park CA? At one point they were a good resource.

 

I have a book for the 83 BJ40 series, so that should be pretty close.

The battery setup is pretty unique, looks like the whole system was 24v if the vehicle had that option. Not 100% on that since the battery wiring isn't super clear in the diagram. Anyway, looks like I don't have the book "scanned", so I processed it real quick. These are lower quality images, if there's one you can't read, let me know. FYI, the wire diagrams fold out to the right, not exactly easy to take pics of (vFlat app + 4k cell phone camera does fairly well though).

If anyone has the other Toyota wire diagram books like this one, I'd love to borrow it to digitize. The newer ones that don't have the fold out pages turn out nicer, some day I might try to process the fold out pages into single large images so it's a little easier to follow.

I can see why it is a little confusing for a quick glance as they have the Diesel and the Gas engines all mixed together given some time it will be easy to understand.

With the hard copy it is easy to high light what you have.
