Dome light not working

Hello all,
On my 1995 4runner, my dome light hasn't worked since I bought the truck.
-I have changed out bulbs, and even changed out the whole dome light assembly as well.
-I have used a multi meter on the positive and negative portions of the bulb *while installed in the assembly connected to the wires* and I will get readings of about 12volts. I only get readings on "Off, and door" never on the "on" position. This is on both assemblies, and both bulbs.
-My red door lights work when a door is open so I think my door switch is working just fine.
-The wires are also plugged in down in the fusebox/kickpanel area.

What is my next step? I am stumped.
-Vince

The door red lights are direct the dome light goes through the integration relay

No matter what you do the light will not turn on??

Not with the door switch Not with the On switch ??

Does this have the Map light and does that work?

Unseen corrosion on the bulb contacts . I spent 20 hours one weekend fighting corrosion that could not be seen .

Tested good with Meter assemble would not work.

Bent or corroded switch not completing the circuit

Bad Ground at the light switch as in the on Position it grounds through the screw

Hope this gives you some ideas

Correct

All positions it doesn't work

It has two lights in the front, on either side of the rear view mirror with a little cubby space.

How do I fight the corrosion? Can I reverse it?

So I need to have the screw in, in order for it to work at all? Every time I test it, I dangle the assembly from the plug
Hope this gives you some ideas

Thank you for your reply

Okay, put the two screws in and still having the same issue. Reading 12 volts (on, and door position now), fixed one issue. Im headed to the store to get another bulb and see is thats my issue.

You can test the bulb with your meter.
