Dim light

Dim light

one day my headlight just went dim as hell, i bought a new one and it got a little brighter, but its very noticeably dim and i've gotten pulled over a couple times for it. the wires all look fine but its like reading chinese to me, any suggestions?

it sounds like it could be a short or your alternator is going out

hmmm good idea but i don't have alot of miles on that one, i just rebuilt the whole thing i found the pickup in the field and got it for a hundrer bucks but dump alot more into. but yota alternators seem to be money pits.

You can do a quick voltage test at the back of the headlight connector to see if that is the problem:

Probably a bad wiring connection on the dim side. A bad alternator or battery would make both lights dim, not just one. Likewise a short would cause a fuse to blow or a light to go out all the way.
