Cruise Control Help Please!!!

Hello, I am having problems with the cruise control in my 1991 Pick up (3.0) I believe it is aftermarket, it is mounted on the dash, by the dimmer switch (my '91 4 runner had it on the stearing wheel). The small control unit will light up when I switch it to on, but nothing happens as far as holding speed.Am I doing something wrong in the setting process?? Obviously there is some power to it? Thank you for your advice.

Aftermarket criuse? Not sure about it?

If its a manual trans make sure your clutch is all the way out before engaging cruise. Lot of times the pedal is out of adjustment and doesnt come up all the way be itself. Theres a clutch sensor for the clutch being all the way out so the cruise can work, and a pedal down sensor for the starter safety circuit. 2 sensors, good thing to check.

Other then that some pics of the switch and setup would help us identify for you.
