Run a whole new power port and be done.

Run a fused wire from the battery or even pick up system voltage at the fuse block.

These sockets are old and corroded and a pain.

Then some of the tolerances on China built junk are so poor it does not make contact.

Another thing the fuse could be loose in the socket.

Myself new wire new power port works like a charm.

wyoming9,thanks for the reply.There was a dead short inside the cig lighter inner copper sleeve.If it ever happens again Ill use your method.
