CB Engine Interference?

I have a Uniden CB mounted on the center console, passenger side. The antenna is mounted on a bracket in the rear of the truck. Ever since I installed the CB it is very sensitive to engine noises. When the engine is running and especially when I'm driving, if the CB is on, you can hear the engine through the speaker. If the engine is off it works well. Has anyone else had this issue, do I just have to deal with it or is there some way to fix it?

Thanks

Yep, common problem on the more inexpensive CBs. A few things to try:

Make sure the antenna is well grounded.
Run a dedicated power and ground wire for the CB, I run mine from the battery back (fused) and twist the wires together for better noise isolation.
Add an ignition noise filter right at the radio.

I do all 3 and get almost no noise in my Cobra 75.
