I searched for this as I assume it's been asked but I don't think I'm using the right terminology.

I have 2 PIAA 120w lights mounted on a bull bar. I just got back from a night excursion and the lights seem very concentrated straight ahead. While this is good for some things I want to get some roof mounted lights.

My question is: Are lights lights? Are they all created equal? I am looking for something that will give me a spread of light so I can see left and right more. Is this just a matter of mounting angles or do some lights spread more than others?
