dont be a danger to other drivers and yourself by tossing glare everywhere. spend the time and the extra money to retrofit some projectors in there.

Ive had my DDM kit 5000k kit for about a year now, 6 months in I had a ballast fail and they replaced it with any issues. But they werent easy to get ahold of.

I think it failed because I kept starting the truck with the light in the on/auto position . Which is bad for the ballasts. Ive gotten out of this habbit and still love the DDM kit.

Ive had ebay kits before on other vehicles and one lasted me 2 years one last 3 months...

wierd how this subject seems to be coming up a lot lately..found a butt load of threads on it

X3 on the getting a set of HID driving lights.
I currently have H4 HID's in my '81..I am converting them back to normal H4's.
Just throwing cheap HID's in H4 housings is a bad idea. the cut off sucks, pretty much is illegal on the road. The only real way to do it is to spend some coin and do a projector conversion...
I did the same conversion 2.5 years ago, here is what I ended up with:

to solve clearance issues with the coolant overflow/washer reservoir I used 1/2" spacer made of CPVC and some junkyard screws :

here are some comparisons--

overall install time was not too bad, maybe two hours. I am really happy with the outcome.
Just need to align them
i didn't think the glare was that bad..after driving it for a while and seeing other trucks with just the HID bulbs and not projectors it finally sunk in what a bad idea it was.
At this point they are aimed so far down that they are about worthless...

oh and your differential is on the wrong side in your avatar for a 2nd gen truck
