batt and break light
hello and thanks in advance for any replys ...I have been searching on here for a couple days now and cant find any thing on the subject ...
My batt and break light are both on in my 93 22re 4 runner ..i went through 4 ALTs before just paying extra for a brand new one and it charges fine truck runs great but these lights wont go off i have gone through the wiring diagrams but i just cant find any thing use full ...it does flicker once and a while and will go off if it doesnt rain or snow so that leads me to believe theres a broke wire or a bunk relay but i cant find any broke wires.. alt, batt terminals are tight and clean
these lights are really getting to me!!!!
so any help or guidance would be great

check the positive wire from the battery to the fuse box. check all of your grounds. The only thing I believe that trips these is a voltage switch? What is your voltage at the battery when running?

Install a voltmeter so you can watch the voltage in real time instead of a light .
I don`t have the wire diagram for that year truck but some where the wire that turns the light on is broke or pinched or has a plug that is corroded and makes contact the times the light goes out.

Check to see if you have a charge light relay. If you do, make sure it works properly. There is a diode circuit involved. The brake circuit (master cylinder level) and handbrake switch are tied into the charge light relay circuit. Get a wiring diagram from your Toyota dealer; they will usually make you a copy from the service manual for your truck. Another area is the Brake indicating light in your dash. Sometimes the solid state board has corrosion and the circit shorts out. If the board is not really damaged, clean it with CRC Electrical cleaner. Hope this info helps.
