AC compressor cycles on/off

I have a 98 4runner with the 3.4 in it and it just started this wierd thing where the ac compressor cycles on and off every few seconds. I can hear a relay under the glovebox coming on and off at the same time. I filled the system with freon two days ago and it is full. Any ideas?

is it blowing cold air? if so it is working properly. the thermistor(i think thats its name) is shutting it off when it reaches the desired temp.
