94 P/U Broken wire and no lights
#1
Need some help....
94 P/U ext 22RE, 5 Speed, no a/c, no power windows or locks
Problem is that I have no lights...no headlights, tails, brake, or dash....
installed a new relay and fuses and checked continuity at the harness for the switch in the column...
found 2 broken wires above/behind the fuse block in the drivers kick panel...green with a white stipe and White with black stripe...i cant seem to find the other ends...is one of these a ground and causing all my problems??

plan on tearing the dash out tonight to look for the missing ends...I've looked at a lot of wiring diagrams but none of them are color coded for wires...any idea where someone could find one that is?

get the haynes manual at advance-atuo-mart-zone, it has the near-full diagram in the back
white with black stripe = ground
green with white stripe sounds like lights (dash, head, tail, any lights, really)

ok dash out...white/black stripe looks like it goes into daytime running light relay connector(thats what one of these FSM's is calling it)...mine is a US manufactured Toy..it doesnt have daytime lamps...so what the heck is this?...still loking for green/white stripe

I might as well start a build-up thread on this truck...after all the headache of tearing the dash out and still not getting anywhere, I double checked the headlight switch...but have misread the wiring diagram b/c thats all i needed....the truck must have been shorted out somehow at one time because it blew almost all the bulbs and relays....still having issues with getting the wipers to work...i can get the motor to run until i hook it up to the connecting rod and it does its "auto-reset" to the starting position..after that it's a sitting duck..any clues???

fixed the wipers by takin out the rods and replacing them with the correct ones...looks like someone tried swapping in 84-88 models rods (they're about 1/4 inch too short) and thats all it takes to not work....work perfectly now...it never ceases to amaze me on this truck what people have tried to get it to work right....
