85 electrical puzzle

My 85 PU today while driving had the CHARGE light come on and the fuel gauge stopped working. Wipers and turn signals stopped working. Headlights and heater blower fan still working. NO fuses blown under the dash or under the hood at the fusable link. Motor still starts OK. Battery seems to be charging.
Grateful for any ideas. Thinking a short somewhere?
Thanks.
Dan

Appears battery may not be charging. 12.4 volts at battery with truck running and not running.

Charging system not working .

Could be a wiring problem

loose fuse in the block I would look at `the 15 amp engine fuse again

poor ground

alternator itself

HOWEVER, most likely this...

15Amp engine fuse supplies alternator and turn signals. Without IG voltage, alternator will not work.

alternator itself
Less likely.

Wink

The engine fuse had a hairline crack at the bottom corner. I had missed it. A new fuse and all systems back to normal!
THANK YOU! I could give you guys a big kiss! I would have been forever figuring that one out.
