I ended up taking mine apart and cleaning the contacts really well with contact cleaner and a small straight screwdriver... So far so good... Mine would sometimes come on for a few seconds, minutes, even a day at a time and then be out for months lol..

i noticed it turned on today for the first time in about 3 years, only b/c it was freezing cold outside, and i remember it only turns on when its really cold, then after about a minute it dies out. so the clock works. what could be the problem guys?

If the clock works, the issue is power supply. This can be from the circuit supplying the power to the clock, or the contacts which connect the clock to the circuit.

More than likely a small crack in a connetion inside the clock on a circuit board, or a cracked resisitor. My strategy would be to comb EBay and salvage ppl for a replacement. Should be less than $15.

This is a common problem and is easily fixable. Please check out ebay site or www.autoclockrepair.com. I have the clock removal instructions there if you need them. Thanks!
