1998 4runner tailgate swap

1998 4runner tailgate swap
swapped the original '98 tailgate on my 275k limited for a 2002 SR5 tailgate. The grey plug plugged right into the chassis, but the white plug is smaller with four wires instead of six. Brake light,license plate lights and lock electrics work. Window,wiper and defrost don't. Is there an easy way to match these up? thanks
