1980 Toyota Pickup Turn Signals Not Flashing

So I have a 1980 Toyota pickup I got a couple weeks ago. The previous owner built a custom flat bed for the truck and installed LED trailer lights in the rear. They are multi function light with running/brake/hazard/turn signals. He had a 7 way junction box in it and everything worked but the hazards and turn signals. So I did a new 5 to 4 converter and took the 7 way out. Brake lights and running lights worked but still no

hazards and turn signals. They lit up but did not blink. Just replaced the fuse and turn signal relay with the Tridon LF12K kit. Now the hazards blink just fine but the turn signals still just light up and don’t blink. The lights on the dash light up bright when the hazards are on but when you engage one of the turns it light up but very dim. The guy before me also but 2 led amber marker lights up front and wired those in instead of the regular signals. The front also blink when the hazard is on but just stay solid when the turn signals are on. I have resistors in-line on all of the lights as well. Need some help here wiring is not my specialty! Thank you!

Sounds to me you need a parallel load in the turn signal circuits before the converter boxes to mimic the original signal bulbs, anything that would make a 23w load. A turn signal bulb or two 12 or 15ohm 10w power resistors (in parallel) would work.

Why two trailer converter boxes? I would think one should work...don't copy the mistake, it obviously didn't work!

I see you also just crimped the connections. At very least heat shrink over them with the dual wall tubing (the shrink tubing with the goop in) You can get crimp butt connectors with the goop in them that you heat up after to seal. I believe 'Pico Products' has them, available at franchise NAPA's.

Use a grounded Flasher for LED use. I put one as a replacement and it worked perfectly.
