Mud Flap Mod - 3rd Gen 4Runner

Article By:

Application Vehicle: 3rd Gen 4Runner

The purpose of this mod is to show you how to remove that extra piece of rubber on your rear mud flaps in order to give your 4Runner the appearance of a higher stance.
Some people choose not to remove this black piece of rubber on their rear mud flaps, because they feel without it, their bumper would be subject to more debris hitting it.
I did this mod 2 months ago, and my bumper still looks new.
I highly recommend it.

Tools Needed:

1. A sharp utility knife, razor blade or scissors

Step 1:

Locate the additional black rubber piece on the rear mud flap under the painted flare on the driver?s side.

Step 2:

Using a sharp knife simply cut the black rubber piece along the painted flare to remove it.

Step 3:

Repeat process on passenger?s side of vehicle.
