Alarm Problems
Hey guys, I hope that all of yall are doing well. Anyways, the stock alarm on my 97 4runner has all of a sudden started giving me trouble in the past week. Sometimes when I push the lock/unlock button, the dumb alarm will randomly start going off. It has become annoying really quick, and personally I dont really like the stock alarm system and would like to upgrade in the future, but I am going to have to deal with this one I guess until I am out for the summer. Has anyone else ran into this problem or does anyone have any helpful suggestions? I like having the keyless entry, and I pretty much just take the alarm for what its worth. Is there anyway to bypass the alarm, yet keep the keyless function working? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys.

HSC:
Assuming you have an RS3000 alarm system, there are a number of things that aren't up to par w/ the RS3000 alarm system you have. Its not a very good alarm system IMHO and does the "basics". Lots of members have issues w/ reliability. I myself was pretty lucky, but i still dont htink its a great system.
That is why I went on the recommendation of several members here on YT and worked w/ Ryan at Commando alarms to put together a group buy.
My suggestion would be to join this group buy and purchase the Commando 870 alarm system which is only $124.00 + $8.00 shipping. See details of the thread here: https://www.yotatech.com/forums/show...light=commando
Its a GREAT system for a great price. There are several members who've already installed it and say great things about it.
Join the group buy. We already got 5 people and so your price will be $124 + $8 too.

Removing the RS3000 alarm system is pretty simple.

Thanks
Bob,
Thanks for the help. It sounds like the system that you put in would be a good one to go for, and the price doesnt sound bad at all. Unfortunately though, since I am in college, I am kinda getting low on funds, so I am going to have to put upgrading to that system on hold until either spring break or the summer. When it comes time for me to do it though, I will likely go for the system that you have. Thanks again!

HSC,
Skip a few dinners w/ the ladies and you'll have enough money for the alarm system. Seriously, isn't that all it is!!??
The group buy price is outstanding.
