why is my 22r black soot on my new plugs after one week?

I recently changed out my cylinder head on my 22r and changed out the water pump and timing chain. put new fluids and it runs great, but i was wondering why after one week the plugs were already showing black soot on them. no start up problems. plugs are gaped at .032 which is recommended should i try using a hotter plug or open up the gap on the plug? any ideas thanks?
