Who has a dented rear bumper? Be honest.

What bumper?! I had to remove it before it fell off from rust thanks to the salt on NY's roads in the winter.

I was just at a red light coming home and was beside a nice Tacoma-about a 99 model Xtra cab. Everything looked good on it except the dented rear bumper.
My bumper is pristine. My tailgate was perfect too until I left it down a few months back while backing up with a utility trailer and the trailer jack squished it on the top.

Ok. So on my way home from work today, I had my camera with me. I decided to take some pics of random dented bumpers.
I figured I should back up how I got the idea for this thread. I swear I got all these in the last 1/2 hour. In 6 miles, I saw 17 with dents, and 1 without. I guess I can only post 3 pics, so here are 3 out of 17.
I guess I should have put more forethought into this. One time, as I was leaning out of my truck to take the pic, this guy says, "Can I help you?" I guess I should have considered this method of operation was going to weird people out. Looking back, I know it would have me. :pat: I do not think I am going to take any more pics. But it turned out fine. I told the guy I liked his truck, but found it funny how many Toyotas had a dented bumper. Then I told him about Yotatech and we had a really good conversation. I guess my lack of forethought might bring a few more members to the site.

i took my rear bumper off after backing of a fishing hole. i hit a fence post and dented the rear onf my bed. Damn the cheap steel on these trucks! Hell i clipped a small tree going less than 5 miles an hour and nearly pushed the front bumper into the front tire. lol I had to use some welding cable to pull out the fender just to get home.

Let's face it, folks -- we may love our trucks, but the stock bumpers are nothing more than glorified tin foil!
I replaced mine with Smittybuilt tubes simply because I got a great deal on them, until I can afford something really good, like Sanoran or TJM, or such.

Ok. This is the best specimen I have seen yet. How ironic I just started this today. I can not believe I decided to leave my camera at home. You all know the rear bumper has two mounting brackets. If you touch the bumper outside of these two brackets, the bumper folds in. Imagine: Only 1/3 of a bumper existing. Only what is left, left of the left bracket. (Crap! That was 3 lefts in one sentance!) Today, not even an hour ago, I saw an early '90s truck that had 1/3 of the stock bumper. It looked like it had been sawzalled off! That is the best I have seen yet. Please, continue to post up!

Mines destroyed from an unfortunate accident with a sloped driveway, a telephone pole, auto tranny and no rear driveshaft....Nuff said...
