picked the radio up from a family member. i'm probably going to sell/trade it for either the cobra wx75st or 19xl

Is the top of your cab double walled? I am gonna assume yes since there is a sunroof.

Did this to my 1990 model back in the late 90's... Didn't even need anything to hold it in there if you trim the back plastic part for a nice snug fit.

I didn't do a writeup but if you look though all the pics you'll probably figure out most of it.

I really didn't want to take up any cab room, so I installed my cb on the back of my seat. Was super easy, and no drilling was required, just used a pair of the u bolts used for clamping wire/cable. The speaker is right by my ear, and the mic just droops over the back of the seat when in use. I'm still able to reach behind the seat to adjust volume and squelch. I'm also able to change the channel, just can't see what channel I'm on. This has not been a problem since I only use it when offroading, and we're all on the same channel anyways.

By the way...this forum rocks!

In my 4runner i had it mounted like DeathSycthe02's and i could still open my ash tray (it was set back further than his) this is how i have it in my pickup

I made a bracket out of stainless that mounts under my rear view mirror in the front and my dome light in the rear I can hang just about any radio I like from here I also like the ash tray mod if you have a smaller radio

i'll play again.

in my 85 trc-503 crappy radioshack radio (paid extra money just to get the tiny size, it was the only one that would fit)

in my 88, i really wanted to mount a full size radio, and actually get decent rx/tx, but after searching thew cab high and low, i found nowhere to mount a fullsize radio that looked good and wasnt in the way of anything. so i had to settle for this little cobra walmart cb i had lying around.

not the best pic but cb is left of the shifter on the side of the tunnel and the race radio face is under the stereo with the brain behind the pass seat.

This is what I had. I had mine mounted on the steering column cover, and the wire when into the little box behind the bottom panel in front of the shifters.

Used it a lot during high school with my friends at lunch. After I moved to Chico, I ended up getting rid of it though because the 5 ft. CB whip would hit parking garage ceilings and ATM drive thru. Plus I didn't use it anymore.
