nice cummins! 02 5spd? i thought all the late 2nd gens were the HO 6spd. anywasy man it looks liek youd get way more mileage than that. my 98 24V that i had was on 35s, 3.73, 4in exhaust, quadzilla adrenaline and AFE intake. and one trip on the interstate(empty) i got 21mpg. i never got below 17mpg regular drivin

[quote=1989toy4wd;51231669]I drive my tow rig everyday...

03 Chevy silverado 4.8L automatic extended cab 2wd...runs good, never had a problem with it, but now I am look for a 98-05 dodge diesel to replace it, I need a 4wd tow rig, and I would like a diesel for better mileage (this one gets 15mpg if im lucky! 9mpg while towing! )

If your going to go for a dodge stay away from the 98-00 models had a bad block and would crack at a water jacket on the passenger side under the manifold. just a good hint for you. have worked on several. only fix is to replace the motor. dont think im telling you what to do just giving your a helpful hint to save a pain in the A$$.

well wrote this after. guess i should have finished reading this thread hahaha but anywho great truck. any guestion about that truck let me know man worked on them all the time and are shop builds some nice sled pullers. just one word of advise is to put a good aftermarket lift pump on it to save your injection pump. ex air dog or FASS.

89 Toyota MR2 is my new to me daily driver. not supercharged thank goodness.

pics on my facebook link. Picked it up for $350 on craigslist.

All calipers were locked up. New calipers/rotors and pads. Took a month to fully flush it out, the antifreeze was like mud-color and consistency- no kidding.

New thermostat. Finally have antifreeze in it again.Probably a $1K car now total investment.

Getting 28-29 mpg on a regular basis around town. Zippy and quick. Top speed about 65mph due to 13 year old front tires. Finding 175/65/14s to fit it is not easy.

Watching people try to stay up with me in traffic-priceless.

I would so trade our BMW for one of these. Would have to be the manual trans as I believe the auto trans in these were unreliable, something about not being able to hold the torque on the diesel motors.

you are right the auto was not a good tranny stock. once you build them they are nice to have put have to put about 5k in one to make it there. 5 speeds were strong tranny just week inputshaft. thats simple upgrade. 6 speeds are just nice to have cause they come with the high output in front of them

Just sold the 1994 22re 4x4 because of a junk frame and stole this for 1800 bucks. I might be getting a free 88 runner from a buddy of mine (gotta have a yota)

Voila! My 1999 Zr2 S10

Ive always liked those 510's I had a couple buddy's big into them many years ago. My moms neighbor is building one right now with an SR20DET swap, it'll be pretty sweet if he ever gets it finished.
