what timing are you running on your rig?

So I'm debating about whether or not to advance the timing on my 88 4runner (22re, 5 speed, 4x4). Been thinking about it because my rig just seems like it struggles to reach 55-60mph. I was talking to few other people I know (locally) that advised me to advance the timing since that is what they did on their yota's (85 4runner and 87 4runner both 22re's) and are able to reach 75mph with no real struggle
.
so that brings me to the question, what degrees should I go to? what degrees should I not pass? What are you running?

As I mentioned above my rig is a 88 4runner with the 22re, 5 -speed, 4x4. No mods except that I have an electric fan conversion and I do run 91 octane fuel already.

thanks in advance.

You don't need anything higher than 87 in this engine, that's what it was designed for. 91 is just wasting money.

Advancing the timing will only help minimal if your tires are over sized, What tire size and gear you run?
