what 4x4 upgrade to a toyota 8 inch axle

i understand toyotas 1/2 tons trucks r relitively small and the 8 inch axles under all stock 4x4s can handle and extreme abuse off road. My questions is something like a samuri can upgrade to toyota axles and be toatally bulllitproof but what other kind of vehicles do people switch axles out on to a 8 inch rear axle to make stronger if any. I have never seen anthing besides sammys do a toyota axle upgrade. is it just not a popular axle to upgrade to because everybode would just rather go up to a dana 44 or am i just not seeing anything out there. Just curious let me know if u guys know of any. THANKS

I've thought about that also.

i'd be willing to bet mostly sammys since its relatively narrower and stronger than other options like D44, 8.8..etc. mostly track width. toys on a zuk is almost like fullwidth on a toy...

There was an article in the Nov 06 4wd&SU about an old land rover converted to full toy drive train by one of the guys who works at inchworm...Pretty neat.

Most other vehicles run the dana and other axles becasue those axles are cheap an plentiful. 8inch toy axles are strong, but begin to have issues with big motors and large tires.

Some of the other import trucks (Nissan, etc) use Toyota axles for swaps.

I've seen Yota rears in a fair number of Jeeps. But since most people to full width they skip right over the Toy stuff.
