Tube frame Yota pickup 84-88 race truck
Decided to join this website because I doubt anyone will enjoy this project as much as you all will.
this spring I’m build a full tube frame chassis 84-87 yoter pickup. It will be built to 350-450 hp on pump gas, a Ford 9 in on KW/ST suspension. I’m having a tough time deciding on wheel size. 15’s look infinitely better on these little trucks, but 17’s perform better in just about every way, *assuming* both wheel sets are roughly the same weight. Truck will be a street/road course machine, and road legal in Indiana.
I haven’t decided on a motor swap yet, but it will be “front mid” engine, the firewall will be bumped back quite a bit to make it happen. Transmission will practically be my passenger. Once I decide on wheel size, I’ll decide on brakes and rotors, but assuming we don’t build this chassis with a bunch of unnecessary tubing, it’ll be crazy light.
anyways, there’s the briefing for the build. Once it begins I’ll link my YouTube!

Then tape over the foaming area from side to side with a 2" wide piece of tape. Covering all repair areas. this forms a slight dome for the foam to push against to force it into the other foam for you instead of a spreader. It also gives you a surface to press on to push it in more flush like you were doing once it started solidifying.
