I used to work for a Toyota dealership way back in the mid-eighties. I thought I remembered Toyota having a trim package available for the 4runners when you removed the rear cap. It covered the bolt holes and even had a piece that went across the top to hide the weatherstripping. Does anyone remember this and is it still available?

 

That rings a bell but I don't know if it is still around... I'd have to say maybe...
It might have been an aftermarket part the dealers sold...
