Should be possible to iron out most of the front quarterpanel, the door is kinda hard to open now...
The geezer I bought it off reconed he had welded steel in on the body the whole way... Suppose he didn't count on me smashing it and finding out he lied to me? The rear wheel well is obiously full of bondo and crap, also a piece of old gaffa tape is poking out now.
I'll do my dilligent best at poking the bumps out again, hopefully without taking everything appart.
Then i would like to fab some protection on there, sliders and something to keep the body intact!
Anybody got any good advise on the way, it'll be greatly appreciated.
I'll smash the panels out, rip into whatever cracks in the paint, paint it over with rust inhibitor to prevent cancer, and eventually get some bondo or whatever and smooth it over again.
Never done any (constructive) body work before, but i'm sure it'll be fun!
At least I had fun on the trails that day!!!

the front fender is just a bit wrinkly, not to really worry to much about. And, theyre real easy to replace.
The trick is to replicate the shape when working with bondo. I really don't like working with anything like it, even paint never turns out really good for me. Might just get the whole thing graffitied in white/snow camo and be happy about it!

Im in a similar situation. But i found mine after i took the stock bumper off. The bondo goes up to the body line thats above the rust hole. So i know how you feel with the bondo.
You could go the same way as me. Im gonna weld on some steel to cover the hole after a cut out the rust. Rattle can it and call it good.
Im using it as an exuse to turn it into a trail rig
And as for the fender, either wear it as a badge on honor, of get a new(old) one from the junk yard for like 20 bucks.

Holy hole!
I dont have a lot to complain about!!!
Just feels crap, cause the 2door body is not something to just swap out, It is in close to perfect condition, with no rust. Obiously some bondo in there, and some wrinkles down the side....
But yes, make it look like it's not a hole, rattlecan it, and get some more protection!
No body-work threads out there, is there..

bondo is used in all vehicles whether there brand new or not. The trick is use it only for final finish. light hammer work if you can get to it or new metal welded in. Todays metal panels are so thin that you can form them to get a close fit by hand.
Bolt on new panel for front fender then spray the whole truck matt black and call it good. Wrinkles and holes are battle scar for the yota
