I have an imported 2000 toyota bB with 1NZ-FE engine and U34OE-05A Transaxle number. The closest North American model is the 1st gen Scion xB, but it has a U34OE-04A Transaxle. After some looking around, the early echos also have the 04A and the Yaris in following years have the 08A but all have basically the same engine, and the rest of the transaxle number is the same.

Just wondering if anyone knows where I can find a reference to the subtle differences between these transmissions. It would be nice to not have to import a transmission from Japan if something happens to mine.
