Towing 97 4Runner

I am sure this has been answered but I cannot find a definitive answer. I am towing a 1997 4Runner on a 2 whell dolly. This is a 4WD model and I am taking off the drive shaft. Do I need to remove the transfer case shaft also or just put that in 2HI? Any help would be appreciated greatly. I have a 4runner to fix and want to get her home soon.

if u just pull the rear drive shaft with the front tires on a dolly you will be fine, u can leave it in 2hi and it wont mess with the trans or anything,

Just pull the rear drive shaft and you are good to go.
I didn't once and it slipped into gear, burn up a transmission and transfer case.
Does the dolley you are using have a center pivot, it will turn slightly as you turn(surface the truck sits on)?
If not you might want to leave the key in the ignition in the on position (unhook battery) to allow the front wheels to turn as you corner.

Have fun

I am not sure, but if it does then I will do that. Thank you very much.
