theres a 96 tacoma for sale locally it has 4 wheel drive extended cab with the 3.4 and a five speed it appears to be in good shape hardly any rust and it drives good down the road, the only thing is it has 183K on the clock. My '87 4runner has 175K on the 22RE so i know how reliable old toyotas trucks can be. Does anyone have any experience with high mileage tacomas especially one with a v6 and/or manual and can give me some advice on what to expect if i pick this up? And i know this is asking for allot but does anyone have an unlimited carfax account where i could run the vin?

I bought a 98 tacoma right at a year ago now. It had 173000 on the clock when I picked it up. If I didnt look at the odometer everyday I would never suspect the truck having that many miles on it. It really all boils down to how well it was taken care of in its former life . Check it over, check the oil, crawl under it look for leaks and anything out of the ordinary. Drive it and listen for odd noises. If there isnt anything that looks weird you are probally gonna be good to go. I know that there are people out there that have well over 200000 miles on their rigs with no issues.
