Has anyone thought of switch out the stock climate control for the auto climate control system out of the limited 4runners (gen 3)?
Just wondering I haven't seen anyone do this mod and was wondering if it has been done or even possible.

 

you will need to replace the evaporator because the climate control system is tied to the evaporator. you may also need to replace the fan and front heater if the attachment to the new evaporator are different.

 

If you are talking about going from a manual, cable operated system to the automatic system, you would also be looking at swapping out the manual hook-ups for the motor controlled set-up.

I thought about doing this in my '90 truck, with the system from an '02 Taco. While I think it could be done, I don't think the small custom aspect would be worth the hassles of making it all work properly, so I walked away from the idea.
