ditto on the 2wd. Lowered is not my thing, but why waste a more expensive 4wd truck for this type of mod??? now he could lift it back up, throw some 33 inch nitto's on those 20's and have a slick looking mall crawler that is all wheather capable and probably rides better too. Either way he wont touch $10 grand for a '98, most are selling for 6 to 8K, and mods dont seem to matter. I saw a TRD with TRD supercharger for $6500, very tempting. I offered to trade him my honda aquatrax, plus boot, but no dice, and sadly for me no cash. My '92 is eating all that up.

4WD would help with racing traction, 5 speed helps with acceleration, toyotas have the best quality engine........ but his BIG downfall. 4Runners arent made for speed and that sort of thing!
And WHY would you waste $15k on all that? Waste.... a waste...
Some moron with money will buy it.....most likely.

I think it looks pretty good...for a lowered 4Runner, I've seen alot worse. At least the guy had some taste while modding. It may not be what a 4Runner is designed for, but gotta give him props. Not everybody likes wheelin

I dont think it looks pretty good, i would say ok.
But you make a good point, its one of those labor of love things, just like what we do when we lift and whatnot.
Although, he shouldnt have ruined a 4wd truck like that, hell, he can take all the crap off, and ill trade him my dads 2wd 5speed...I think that works...
Speaking of, I get to drive my dads truck today

Honestly, who cares?
its not your truck, you didn't do that and you don't have to drive it.
its personal preference along with everything else we do in life. If he liked it when he did it thats all that matters.

I thought it was pretty good looking, a clean well executed set-up. I would'nt go 10k for it but without seeing the interior it is one of the best "street modified" runners I've seen.
That aussie kid's 2wd dbl. cab looks like it's on the right track too... I think his idea of using an 01 explorer front valance is very interesting. Not something I'd have thought of but it works...
This may be an off-road oriented forum but we have room for everyone here.

You are correct but there's nothing wrong with posting opinions either on it since this thread seems to start from a negative point so a majority of the negative posts would be expected but the others can weigh in positively for a lively discussion.
