I don't think that amount of chunking will shorten the lifespan. If anything siping is supposed to extend the lifespan with cool temps and the tread blocks being more flexible. BTW I was kidding about the mall comment

Ah no worries. I didn't take it personally. I think the reason why I was concerned in the first place is because I personally only had car tires siped and they don't spread out at all. But then again, these lugs are about 4X the height of my car tires...

I don't believe in siping and I just stick with tires that are designed with them already there.
