shock repair

while taking apart one of my coilovers yesterday, i found that the main nut that holds the top plate on to the main bolt was rusted solid. the other cam oeff easily but this one ended up having to be cut off, and in the process the threaded part is very mangled. is there any way to fix this/replace that top bolt or is it toast? im already putting a new one in but i thought i'd ask before i toss it

Would try a thread restoring die or a thread repair file to clean up the threads.
