Shifting Trans out of D to N at all stop lights-OK or bad for Trans
Members,
I would like your advice and opinions.
I hate to hear the engine strain against the Transmission when I pull up to a stop light or am stopping and starting in traffic.
So, I move the Trans from D to N at at stops a lot. A whole lot.
Is this shifting from D to N and back bad or the Transmission?

That "strain" on the engine isn't hurting it, it's designed to do that. That's one of the benefits of a torque converter is that it lets the engine run in it's normal idle speed while you're in gear yet not moving.
