Shackle over Frame?

Sorry if this is a dumb question or has been asked before, I couldn't seem to find it. While looking at a few of the desert builts over on TTORA I noticed that some of the prerunner guys run their rear shackle hangers either through or over their frame rail with longer shackles. What's the advantage of this over the stock shackle hanger? Thanks

usually they are doing that because they are running longer prerunner or full race leaf packs that give much more travel then stock. doing it this way also keeps the ride hight downand center of gravity lower because in high speed desert racing having too much hight is a bad thing and it will cause you to roll your truck.

Allows you to run a long shackle for max flex without having a sky high ride height.
