Sacramento Area Junk Yards

I need to go find some small parts at a pick n pull type of junkyard, and was wondering if anyone knows which of the Sacramento area yards would be best for that. (I'm looking for the PS idle up valve and Dash Pot)

Yotas with parts still on them are hard to come by at a pick-n-pull in the Sac area. The all-Toyota yards in Rancho Cordova are supposedly better, but I think their prices reflect it as well. I hear Specialized Parts Planet is pretty good and can get used stuff if they don't have it in-house. good luck!

btw, you should get your rig all buttoned up by the end of Aug. and join in on the Squaw Ridge trip

I agree, I've had very good luck at T.A.P. But there are a bunch of them down on Recycle Rd. If T.A.P. didn't have what I was looking for, it never took to long to find it at one of the other spots.

T.A.P. would be the last place i would buy parts from. There parts are way over priced, and if you call and get a price quote on the phone for something and then go to get it, the price they try and sell the parts to you for is usually 20-30 dollars more than what you were quoted. Thats my own personal experiance with them.

My experience as well. I only buy from them is it's my last resort before heading to the dealership.

What's a "Squaw Ridge trip?"

I personally usually deal with the smaller salvage yards. for example. the TOYOTA mart on the corner of recycle road and sunrise is family owned. and the guys there are pretty cool. They're pretty small but usually have what Im looking for. also, most importantly the prices aren't outrageous. probably should look and see if they got what you're looking for.

Ive bought stuff from them also. Ive also had good luck finding things i need at pick n pull on sunrise.
Even though i no longer live in california, i will be back down there in about two weeks, and i will be checking out pic n pull while im there.
Thats one thing i miss, there are no pic n pulls here in Idaho were im at.

same experience here, quoted at $100 even, charged $140 otherewise they wouldn't sell me the part. f***ers

by the way, if you go to pick-n-pulls website they list what vehicles are in each lot, it may help narrow your search
