I've put Goodyear MT/Rs this afternoon on my truck. Finally. They've been in my garage for a month; I was waiting good weather to put them on.
After I put them and made a test drive around the block (~5miles), I did mentioned rubbing. I knew it's going to rub a little, but after what I saw, I start worrying.
They rub not only mud flaps, but ALL triangles on the front bumper. I was expected a little rubbing on triangles. So I checked how much should I trimmed. I'm not sure if after removing triangles I would get rid of rubbing. Maybe in city driving yes, but what about off-roading when I'm using all wheel travel up and down. I'm afraid that 275/70-17 might rub the plastic fender when the shock will be fully compressed.
May be I'm wrong, that's why I'm asking for an opinion from members of this forum. I talked to the guy I got my tires from and he said he will check with GoodYear, if I can exchange 275/70-17 for 265/70-17.

P.S. I tried to cut right mud flap, but it still rubbing.

 

Since they are an MT tire, they would probably rub more than the same size AT or HT tire.

 

I have 3" Cornfed Lift on my truck, but this is not helping as I was thinking.

 

That rubbing isn't any worse than the rubbing I got with my 265/70R17 BFG A/T's. I wouldn't worry about it too much.

First, just remove those mud flaps instead of trying to trim them. They eat up close to an inch of your wheel well space. There are, I believe, 4 bolts each that hold them to the body. Then, crank out the hacksaw and cut those wierd fender extensions/whatever-they-are-called in the front of each wheel well completely off. Those things do a better job of catching mud/dirt than directing wind around the front tires (what they were designed to do). That should do it !

By the way, you'll probably encounter much the same rubbing, just less of it, if you go down in size to 265.
