Removing front windshield molding tips

Since the windshield & retaining clips are both held on with urethane only, it's very diffecult to remove the molding only without breaking the clips.
What exactly are you trying to do? Remove the trim and reinstall it? I once had to do that, and ended up taking it to a glass place. They cut out the windshield, cleaned out all the old urethane, and reinstalled the glass with new urethane, clips and molding better then I could ever do. What sucked about it, was the price.
