Problems with insurance related to a camo paint job?
Here's maybe a strange question. I was threatening my wife (again) with painting my truck in a camo scheme. (Her response: "Over my dead body will there be a camo'ed truck in MY driveway").
Anyway, I came across the truck below in an old thread...

...and I got to thinking: if you painted your vehicle in an urban camo pattern, do you run the risk of insurance complications if you get into an accident on the road? For example, what if the person who hit you claimed that because you camoflagued your truck, they weren't responsible for the damage because you'd created a situation where you weren't visible enough? Could your insurance company refuse to cover your accident because you'd made an 'unsafe modification' to your truck? What color would you report to the DMV for your registration info?
Has anyone heard of stories like that before?

I would call that truck white with black and grey trim.
haha anyway I think you can report the color to the insurance as being camouflage. I would ask you insurance company or another one what color to call it. Remember military vehicles are sold quite often to civilians and they stay camo'd. Mostly they are OD green though, what kinda of camo you gonna shoot for? woodland, urban, desert, digital or custom?

I don't have any definite plans. My paint is still good on my truck. I just have it in the back of my mind if my paint ever starts to go. I think I'd probably go with something along the color scheme of MARPAT camo.

I don't see that happening. I mean if you're on the road in the first place you should always be aware of what's going on around you..... And what exactly are they gonna say?... " I couldn't see his bright red glowing tail lights cuz his truck was painted camoflauge!"

i have to ask is this your wife`s house??
Maybe it is time to trade her in better than what she said.
As long as the vehicle can be inspected in your state you should have no problems.
