Wow, I can't believe all you rich guys that can afford a 3rd gen! I personally prefer the 1st gen because of the removable top and 2 doors, but I can see the family man needing the 4 door to put the kiddies in the back a lot easier.

"what??" you say, "your truck is a 1994...that's a 3rd gen".

that's what i always thought, too, but it ain't so...

Started with a 1st (my favorite - I'd kill to have it back) in '98, bought a new 3rd in '01, then traded that for our current 4th a few months ago.

But we are talking about 4WD here, and the 1st gen HiLux 4WD was 1979 (I had #1575 off the assembly line), so you go from there. Brahama conversions don't count....

OK, the competitive person that I am, I hate to be in anything than 1st place, so it's time to bump up the 1st gen owner's numbers. This isn't stat padding, just separating the 3 1st gens into separate votes here.....

Since I own 2 first gens can I vote twice???

I just picked up the turbo charged one for 2k about 2 weeks ago. rebuilt turbo and engine.

4th Gen Here. I wanted a 4runner since 1985. It only took me 20 years to get one. I would like to get a 1st gen also. I always liked the looks of them.

i can't $$$ but whatcha gonna do, gotta have a toy for the kids.
i like the removable top of the 1st gen so much that the shell on my old p/u looked like it.
