Hello, I am rebuilding the knuckles on my 80 p/u. I have everything back together but I cant pull the axle shaft out far enough to get the final C-Clip on (the one inside the locking hub). I needs to come out the width of the groove on the shaft as I can just barely see it starting to show. I have used a bolt to pull the shaft out as far as I can but its still not out far enough. Any ideas on what to check?

... all I can think is that the trail gear wheel seals are the problem. they seem to be thicker and stick out a little beyond the hub where as the ones that were on there sit just below the hub rim.
