Not for sale, but how much would you pay?
1985 4runner. 250,000 miles. 22r-e. 5 speed. 4x4 solid axle. some rust here and there on the paint. Brand new 31" BFG all terrains. truck runs like a champ.
According to KBB for a 1986 4runner (they didnt have 85 as an option), they say Excellent $1,935, Good $1,635, and Fair $1,255. I Rate it good.
My question is, how much would you be willing to take this wonderful solid axle for? Again, this vehicle is not currently for sale, but it may be in the future. Also, it will come with some onboard air stuff, minus a compressor.

Okay, a couple things. You should ask "what can I get" not "what would you pay?"
Here's why. You can GET probably 3 grand or more for the truck. You've got a rare year, and there are people out there desperate to get that year.
Now, what would i pay. First off, rating it good in KBB isn't correct. The vehicle is in "fair" condition. Fair says major mechanical or cosmetic defects. Rust, on those trucks, is a major cosmetic defect. I know, because for the third time in two years, i'm on day 4 of major rot repair, which "minor" rust turns into on these trucks.
I also am currently in the market for a 1st gen, and have been looking at a ton of trucks. For a truck with rust and 250k, i'd pay 1000 tops. High mileage and possible issues. Now, that number would go up depending on the quality of the interior, ie dash is not cracked, all the guages and lights work, the shift knobs have all the appropriate markings, and are not too faded, and the seats, carpet and rear paneling are all intact and in good shape. Also, if you have AC, and Keep the new tires on the truck, as well as the stereo, i'd pay closer to 1500 to 2000. But, thats just me, and i have high standards when getting a used car, been screwed pretty good before.

If your A/C blows cold and the vehicle has no mechanical defect you can get 3K EASY. You could probably get up to around mid 4K to 5K if you're in the right neighborhood.
