noiser after valve adjustment on 22re

so i adjusted my valves. did everything by the book, it was hot and set valves at .008/.012 and it seems like there’s a louder noise now than when I started. Its mostly coming from the middle to the back of the engine. so i know its not the timing
Timing chain rattling around. I doubled check to make sure my valve cover wasn’t to tight and its good. i started to search and i came a crossed this link and i wonder if this is accurate or not...does it take 150-200 miles sometime for the valves to adjust and quite down? i guess it does make some sense but i just wanted some input on this.

if it doesnt go away ill just cold adjust them at .007/.011 and see if it helps at all. thanks for your help!!
