yah but at 587,000 miles you'd be hitting your first engine rebuild...

Well I have been beaterless for 4 years or so. I used my kids Wrangler for a few weeks because I had busted a plug in #4 cyl. Just as well, come to find out the head was cracked, so hello Lce. If it was not for pics and info here, it would still be apart.

I might or might not go with it.

It would be a middle step for me.

I have been contemplating just jumping straight to my ultimate build ... either 383 stroker for fun or diesel engine for stability.

Might just go to 4bt.

4BT FTW!!!...although they are HEAVY..you just can't compare a 4cyl gas motor to a 4cyl cummins....and besides.if it weighs the front of ur truck down too much..get some HD springs..lol..and some harsher valved shocks..boom..weight carried!

and at over 175hp and over 400ft lbs of torque on a STOCK motor (now ya gotta do some tuning and fiddling with the motor...but everything mechanical wise is still left stock)...that's like..frame twisting...axle busting...birfield destroying...kick ricer ass power..LMAO

and ya can't forget about the dual stacks ..5" would be lookin mighty fine on your rig Authority!

yah try 800 pound 4bt to 1100 pound 6bt

I've done some research. Almost convinced myself to do a 6.5l chevy diesel. chevy 350 motormounts, but it's as wide as a big block ... lots of problems there.

this is my '93 1 ton dually I drag raced down in houston, tx

6bt with p-71 modified (by me) fuel pump. pushing 600hp 1100 tq with stock turbo and some other slight mods, mostly injector/pump mods.

the spare block in the back was pushing 1100 hp with 2 turbos (1 small into 1 big) so the tiny one would spool up at acceleration and would make the larger turbo spin up faster for better acceleration.

was a 5 speed. i could shut down freeways with those stacks from all the black smoke.

and texas freeways are 6 lanes wide on each side.

the whole back of the cab is cut out and a back seat was put in with a camper top. the back wall of the cab is now a 60 gallon reserve fuel tank with 40 gallon stock tank piped together. I believe those were 8-10" stacks also.
