i have a 91 toyota and it leans to the right real bad and its not the factory offset of an 185lb driver. i think its the leafsprings becasue i replaced all the shocks and it still leans very noticably to the right. anything will help.

 

Shocks have nothing to do with ride high and maintaining ride high. What keeps the vehcile up right is the suspension. Its a 91 toyota truck or runner? Prolly your leaf spring on that side. Front suspension on these yotas rarely wears out....

 

Swap your rear leaf springs left to right....

well hell if you swap the springs then it's gonna lean to the left...ultimately NOT fixing the problem...get ya a new set of leafs dude!..go with the 3" OME DAKAR's....then that will give you an excuse to get some BJ spacers...then that'll give you the excuse to get some new tires

and ive been looking at new rear leaf springs but everything i find is for 98 tacomas or up , any one know where i could find some to fit mine?

 

I just wanted to level out my rear so I went with the JC whitney leaf springs for 290.00. I have been real happy with them. Brought the rear up and gives a nice ride. They carry a firewood load real nice to. Mine has a topper on it all the time with a hithc and it still sits level. Better than factory in my opinion.

If your looking for something more rock crawlish go with something else but these are great for my needs.

 

nah im not going for rock crawler, just level...did yours look unlevel in the front too? cause when i sit in it i can tell its leaning in the front also.

 

can tweak the torsion bars a lil to alter the height.

camo- the truck leans due to the gas tank etc. on that side. swapping springs will help!

 

Use an angle finder or a tape to measure the a arms. Mine was leaning used a magnetic base angle finder. I had one arm at a different angle than the other, played with the torsion bars and cylced the suspension. No more lean.

You can use a tape measure to measure from the fender to the rim edge. Try to do it at the same spot on both sides then just make sure the distance matches. Had a link on the how to but don't have it on this puter.

 

ok i got my truck up and ive been tightening the torsion bar on the side its leaning to. how will i know its good enough....just take it off the jacks and check it out? how much should i turn it?

 

you'll need to cycle the suspension so it settle. Get a buddy and bounce the front. Measure from the finder to the rim edge. Use the same spot straight over the tire to the top most edge of the rim. Try to do it the same place on the other side of the truck. You want to get the measurements as close as possible.

 

will driving it around let it settle? casue i took it off the jack and its level now , should i have left it a little lower then the driver side to offset me in the truck?

nope mine just sagge din the rear. Make sure your torsion bars are set equal.
