minimum laptop for tuning URD fuel kit

My old 1997 laptop with Windows 98se doesn't seem to be up to the task of tuning. I can run the R4 software or I can run the OBDII software but I can't run them both at the same time or my laptop locks up. Has anyone had that problem? It has a Pentium with 224 MB ram.

I also noticed the A/F goes all over the place when the laptop locks up. Is it possible that when the laptop locks up it's keeping the FTC from doing it's job?

I have the complete URD fuel kit plus the A/F calabrator, but so far I've just been tweeking Gadget's start-up fuel map on the FTC in the open loop area for WOT where I'm running too rich (about 10).

Hmm, that is a strange problem... Probably because Win 98 sucks compared to Win XP. Can you install WinXP on your laptop?

I would guess a laptop that can run Win XP should be able to handle the duties. I bought one for my GF that cost about $400 on Ebay (Dell C600) 1.5 years ago. You should be able to find one that fits the bill for $200-$300 shipped IMO.
