Max miles on a 4Runner

go go go
200,000 no rebuild and not really a plan for one yet. it's a little tired but it still gets me to work everyday and still claws my 33s and it's an 85 runner. in my opinion the 22re is the best motor ever!!!!!!

i strikes me as wierd that some of you say "125k and still going strong". what did you expect, you drive a toyota. i'll be impressed when you say 600k and still going strong...even then the body might rust away but the engine will still run
now, if this was an explorer board, i'd say 125k would be a milestone

I ran into an ex a couple of months ago and she still has her '94 Toy PU (which I helped pick out brand new) with the 22RE and it's got 230k on it and still goes.
If I see 250k from my 3rd gen I'd be happy and I'm only at 117k right now.

Try this... tons of info, keep looking!

It looks like I have the most for a 6 year old. I have 146,000 on my 2000 4cyl runner. It used to be a company car of some sorts before me and I still put 25,000 miles a year on it. I replaced the shocks and the ignition key tumbler. It has an occasional door and dash rattle but they go away if I press on them. Other than that it looks and drives like new. I use Castrol and Purolator filters.
I don't bother with synthetic since my last car was an 86 volvo 740 turbo w/boost increased 5-8psi over the stock 10lbs that ran 210,000 miles on conventional oil before I sold it. If a turbo can run that long on conventional then who needs synthetic.

got mine rebuilt @ 180k. @ 204k now. Tranny's original but thats the thing i'm worried about. I think from now on I might take it easy on her. Auto trannies are a pain in the arse and bank to fix.

I traded in my 1987 4Runner which I had brought new off the showroom floor at 212K...nothing wrong with it except the interior was old and dirty from raising 2 kids with it. I plan on driving this one for at least 9 more years and however many miles it will go.
Think of it this way, for every month you drive it past paying it off you save one month's payment. I like to think of it paying me back. There is no reason for these 4Runners not to last 300k with good maintenance.
And I remember the days when we thought a car was done at 100k.
